During your time here in York there will be times when you and your friends would like to go out to grab a bite to eat rather than eating at the caf. Luckily, York has a lot of great restaurants to choose from. In order to ensure that you choose the right place to eat and leave the restaurant satisfied, here a few places that I recommend:

  1. The Kitchen
This has been one of my favorite places to eat off campus this year. One of the reasons why this is such a great place for college students is because of their 25 cent wing nights on Monday’s and Thursday’s. There have been numerous times my some teammates and I have gone to get wings following baseball practice for a good and cheap meal. Personally, I recommend that you try the Parmesan garlic wings if you’re a wimp when it comes to spicy food like me.

  2. Chances ‘R’
While this place is more expensive than most restaurants that a typical college student can afford, it is a must-go-to place to eat when your parents visit and would like to take you out. This restaurant is more high-class than other sit down restaurants and fast food chains. Plus, they  have  very good pasta and steak. It’s also an excellent place to take someone for a date!

  3. La Cocina
La Cocina is one of the most popular and highly talked about restaurants in York. It is known for having very good mexican food and is priced reasonably  as well. This is one of  my favorite restaurant to eat at  and I’m going to miss it in the  summer. It is a great family friendly environment and the staff is very helpful as well. I have been very satisfied with their food so I highly recommend this restaurant if you have a hankering for mexican food.

  4. Wendy’s
While Wendy’s is obviously a national chain, it is a very popular for you to eat if you want a late night meal. I have enjoyed quite a few late night trips here with teammates of mine before curfew. My recommendation for a cheap meal with a good amount of food is their “4 for $4 ”. In this meal, you get a hamburger, chicken nuggets, fries, and a fountain drink. This is a great deal that is easily affordable for us “broke college students”.

  5. La Carreta
La Carreta recently opened and  is another high quality mexican restaurant. I’ve only been here once so far but, they have amazing breakfast burritos. Along with the delicious burritos, they have tremendous chips and salsa as an appetizer. I highly recommend this restaurant along with La Cocina for quality and reasonably priced mexican food.
