RoundUp is a weeklong retreat for those (approximately) 55 and up. It’s Bible camp and a mini-term as a YC student rolled into one. We’ll have Bible classes, devotionals, and activities, as well as classes in history, literature, creative writing, and music—but no tests or term papers!
Call up your best friends and invite them to join you on campus or come on your own and make a slew of new friends. It's a welcoming and fun week where you'll enjoy a field trip, theme dinner (costumes optional), and talent show. You won't want to miss it!
For alumni, RoundUp is a chance to have a Super Reunion! Gather your classmates and relive the York experience. You'll feel the years roll back as you move into the dorms with your friends, eat in the cafeteria, and go to classes taught by YC faculty members. It's a great time to reconnect on the York College campus, without all the busyness of Homecoming. You'll enjoy moonlit strolls across campus and not have to worry about curfew.
This year our theme will be The Restoration Movement: 1800-2019, taught by Dr. Terry Seufferlein. We’ll also have a fun music class with Amy Fraser. Don’t worry, absolutely no musical talent required! Chrystal Houston will again teach a creative writing class. President Steve Eckman will teach a Bible class on the topic "Unsung Heroes." As always, we'll have an exercise class in the afternoons for those that want to stay active during the week.
Since the theme of the week doesn't lend itself well for our theme dress up dinner, we've decided that the theme dinner will be "All things YC" this year. Our colors are blue and white, our mascot is the Panther. You can paint your face, wear YC gear, or dress as a college student...use your imagination!
We'll be going to Lincoln for the field trip to tour Memorial Stadium (home of the Huskers) as well as the Lincoln Children's Zoo. It's going to be a ball!
The cost for RoundUp 2019 is $275/person or $550/couple. This cost includes all meals (and lots of snacks!), activities, housing, class materials, and transportation and admission for the field trip.
We want to see you there!
