It has been a pretty amazing week at YC. We are headed to the first round of the conference playoffs in basketball, won the conference wrestling meet with 5-7 wrestlers headed to the national tournament, and today we announced in chapel that we had 22 all-Americans in track with three national championships and numerous second place finishes. However, why York is York is not necessarily because of all the formal athletic successes, but that we make our own fun here.
You may have missed it because it was not nationally televised, but last Friday we hosted the York College winter olympics in the Campbell Center. While it was too late for this old man to stay up and watch, it appears from the pictures that we had hockey, bobsledding (on mop bucket carts)[by the way, who is responsible for that dent in the wall? Probably never know], biathlon (with nerf guns), curling and other stuff I can't identify from the pictures. I thought of this and revisited a thread from an earlier Facebook post where people shared some of their fun times at YC (most unplanned and unexpected). You can take the student out of YC, but you can't take YC out of the adult. If some of you are like me, the memories keep me young. However, I get to experience new memories being made and lives being transformed. Go Panthers!!!
