I know I tend to say something about this every year, but hearing the students sing for the first time each year in praise chapel does something to me. On Fridays I prefer to sit in the front and let the sound wash over me. Today was also special in that they sang one of my favorite songs, "The Greatest Commands." I was okay as the altos started, joined in with the basses, was excited when the tenors joined.
But when the sopranos joined in I couldn't sing anymore, I just had to listen. I closed my eyes and experienced God speaking through all these amazing young men and women. I felt a bit like John must have felt on Patmos when he was "in the Spirit on the Lord's Day" and he heard a voice behind him. The voice(s) I heard were angelic and transformational. What a great year we are going to have. Go Panthers!
