In 2006, York College instituted the Presidential Scholarship to recognize the merits of incoming freshmen each year. The York College Presidential Scholarship is the school’s most prestigious award, recognizing academic achievement as well as moral character and leadership qualities. The recipient of the scholarship will represent the very best of York College.
The Presidential Scholarship recipient will receive FULL Tuition per annual school year up to 5 years (10 semesters). Candidates selected as finalists and invited to campus will receive the Deans Scholarship for HALF Tuition per annual school year up to 5 years (10 semesters).
To be eligible for the Presidential Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria no later than January 12, 2018.
Score a minimum ACT of 28 or SAT of 1310 (Evidence-Based Reading/Writing & Math). Will accept old SAT format (taken prior to March 2016) with score of 1260 (Critical Reading & Math). (Dec. 2nd SAT test date & Dec. 9th ACT test date will be final test available in order to meet score reporting deadline and submittal date).
Be accepted to York College. If you have not yet applied, please complete our free application for admission. (Preliminary school transcript will be used and is required for acceptance).

Finalists will be selected and formal invitations will be sent January 26, 2018. Finalists must appear on York College’s campus for panel interviews on February 26th, 2018 in order to receive awards.

Step One: Complete Scholarship Application
Complete the application for the Presidential Scholarship. If you have not already applied for admission to York College, please do that here.
Complete two essays. The first is a required topic and the second should be selected from the list below (#1 – #3). Please submit your essays by uploading them to the form below. Minimum word count for each essay is 500.
