York College broke into the top 10 of the NAIA Wrestling Coaches Top 20 Poll for the first time in school history as they moved up to the eighth spot. Previously
the Panthers were ranked 11th in the nation but have moved up with impressive showings
in their fall competitions. Willie Fox highlights the Panther team as he is currently ranked 2nd in the nation in the 149lb
weight division. Jack Murphy (JR/Bakersfield, CA) is currently ranked 4th at 197lb.
"This is a great recognition for York College and we're certainly going to work hard to live up to the ranking. The competition in this area is very tough on the NAIA level and any type of recognition of success does not come easy and needs to be worked for to attain. I like my guys and believe we've grown a lot this year and we'll continue to grow the rest of the season," stated Head Coach Ramon Diaz.
