December graduates earning a bachelor’s degree included: Samantha Baires**, Kristy Jo Beitler, Brianna Bennett**, Lawyer Braun, Nathan Buzi, Jacob Gibson, Luke Jackson*, Collette Kretz, Noah Manly, Katherine Rea, Jacob Sola, and Electra Walker**.
Graduates earning a master’s degree included: Andrea Capuyan, Matt Fike, Elizabeth (Maher) Fleig, Melanie Harr-Hughes, Justin Hoelscher, Anissia Munoz, Melissa Myers, Catherine Seufferlein, Zack Tallon, and Jason Waldenville. The ceremony included a welcome from President Steve Eckman and a commencement address from Sue Roush '01, a marketing communications strategist who owns and operates Roush Marketing Solutions. Roush encouraged graduates to never stop learning and to take a lesson from what they were taught in first grade: “Stop, look, and listen." Roush talked of her personal battle with cancer and how her world was turned upside down when she first received the news. "You can’t move forward without first stopping, and taking stock of your circumstances," she said. "The only way you can listen is to be still. Seek direction. Seek advice. Seek the one who made you." The ceremony continued as graduates lined up to walk across the stage and receive their diplomas from President Eckman with a smile, a handshake, and frequently, a hug. Master’s and bachelor’s degrees were awarded during the ceremony and then were hooded by their escort with the hood that represented their field of study. A reception for graduates and their families followed the ceremony. York College will hold its spring commencement ceremony on April 25, 2020. *Cum Laude – Grade Point Average of 3.40 or higher **Magna Cum Laude – Grade Point Average of 3.60 or higher ***Summa Cum Laude – Grade Point Average of 3.85 or higher Comments are closed.
