The York College Celebration Singers will perform their spring concert We are the World, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 28-29.

The show-choir style performance of inspiring music will include solos and ensemble numbers, with well-known tunes from bands such as U2, Green Day and John Lennon.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. in Bartholomew Performing Arts Center. All tickets are $5, payable at the door. Tickets may be reserved at www.york.edu/boxoffice or purchased at the door starting one hour before performance.

The Celebration Singers are under the direction of Amy Fraser, assistant professor of music, and is a vehicle for music and theatre students to take leadership production roles as well as perform. Colby Smith choreographed the show and handled advertising. Caleb Magner designed the set. Aubrey Tate designed and created costumes. Gabby Siebenaler co-directs the show and worked with Smith on choreography. Dani Palenski worked with soloists.

Other student performers involved with the production are: Cameron Merrill, Conrad Morris, Grady Johnson, Moses Guilllen, Tommy Eckhart, Peyton Horton, Jacob Wirka, Josh Anderson, Olivia Nabb, Lydia Kirchoff, Marissa Bressler, Darrien Gomez, and Fallon Grady.
We are the World: Songs of Unity will be a warm up for the all school musical production Songfest, April 13-15. Fraser also directs Songfest and many of the Celebration Singers performers will have a role on that stage as well, either as hosts and hostesses or as members of a club performance.

The Celebration Singers also present the annual Cocoa and Carols show to sell out-crowds each December. Their performances are underwritten by Cornerstone Bank.
