![]() High school actors from around the area converged at York College’s Bartholomew Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 3, to participate in the third annual Cultivate One-Act Festival. These high school students will perform their one-act plays at competitions around the state throughout November. The festival at York College gave them an opportunity to perform their show in front of more seasoned actors, who provided feedback for improvement. ![]() “We love hosting this event at York College,” said John I Baker III, associate professor of communication and director of the theatre program at YC. “This gives us a chance to scout out up-and-coming talent as well as provide a growth and improvement opportunity for each of the programs that participates. We want to partner with all of the schools in the area to support their arts programs in any way that we can.” Even though the event was not competitive, the festival named a best actor and actress, as well as some honorable mentions.
