York College has announced that a gift from a generous alumni couple will provide
matching funds for new scholarship gifts, now through June 30.
The scholarship funds created will support all kinds of students, including those with high academic achievement, financial need, athletes, and performers. “These funds will help make York College accessible for every student who wants to be part of this community and is willing to work to make that happen. Right now students and their families are finalizing decisions and arrangements about school this fall and these additional scholarship dollars will make the York Experience an even more attractive option,” said Brent Magner, vice president for advancement.

Every year, York College provides more than $3 million in scholarships to achieve
its mission of Christ-centered education that transforms.
The $50,000 provided by the anonymous alumni couple will match “new” scholarship dollars, meaning an increase over last year. So, if a donor gave $100 for scholarships last year and gave $200 this year, $100 of the new gift would be matched, providing a total gift of $300.
“These gifts for scholarships are at the heart of who we are,” said Magner. “Without the generosity of alumni, friends, foundations, and community partners, York College could not provide the transformational educational experience that we promise to students.”
