Alumni, friends, and university employees put in 3 days of sweat labor and service to beautify the campus before the students return for the fall semester. Organized by Scott '79 and Lisa (Hinrichs '81) Eckman, around 50 were part of this year’s work days, giving the grounds a little TLC where it needed it most — from pulling weeds, spreading mulch, and trimming bushes to planting perennials, painting fire escapes, and striping various parking lots.

Volunteers came from as far away as Tennessee, Colorado, Texas, and even Canada to be a part of this year’s crew and were provided free housing and meals for their services. Thank you to all who gave their time and effort to this worthwhile project. Your mark on the York University landscape is priceless!
