York University’s Celebration Singers are excited to announce their upcoming Cocoa & Carols performances, held in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center on December 5–6 at 7:30 p.m. and December 7 at 2 p.m.

“I love being a part of Cocoa & Carols because we can be lighthearted and cheesy and just go all in with the Christmas spirit,” said Mallory Tremaine, a senior vocal music education major.

This year’s theme is “Home for the Holidays,” so you can expect to see the Celebration Singers family decked out in their festive pajamas as they bring the audience into their living room to hear holiday classics—and even see the occasional dance break. Watch YU students Aaron Bartak, Sammi Burch, Nash Crane, Madi Fields, Adeline Fornander, Addison Harrold, Penelope Heaton, Lennon Kimball, Malachi Meador, Madi Miller, Jackson Norton, Jenna Smith, Mallory Tremaine and Fischer Wood while sipping on hot cocoa provided by Mack’s Golden Grounds.

“This year, we are singing some extra challenging pieces,” Tremaine said. “The growth that this group has achieved from the beginning of the semester is incredible. Les is such a good teacher, so not only is there a lot of talent in this show, but it’s also the product of excellent music education.” Lester R. Miller III, associate professor of music, is in his third year of directing Cocoa & Carols.

“It’s so fun to see the smiles on the audience’s faces,” Tremaine said. “Performing is such a blessing to the performers as well.”
