Dean's List Announced

York College announced the list of Dean's List scholars for the fall 2019 term. 112 students were recognized with this distinction.

To be named to the Dean’s List, students must carry 12 or more graded hours and achieve a semester grade point average of at least 3.75 with no incomplete grades and no grade below “C” for the semester.

York College to renovate historic Hulitt Hall

Hulitt Hall will get a major makeover starting in 2020 thanks to a $3 million gift provided to kick-start the largest single renovation project in college history. Constructed in 1903, the structure will be transformed into a focal point for campus visitors and a hub for campus services for students.

Dr. Steve Eckman, York College president, said, “We are excited to see Hulitt Hall renewed and restored. It is a beloved, iconic structure for many alumni. Through the years it had fallen into disrepair, and this opportunity to reinvent a campus landmark in a way that will serve future guests, students and alumni has been a goal for many years. This project is only possible now because of a generous grant.”

Winter Commencement

York College held its winter commencement ceremony Thursday evening to recognize the accomplishments of students who had completed the requirements for graduation after the fall semester. The inspiring ceremony was held in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center and was attended by more than 100 students, faculty and staff, family members, and friends.

Join Dr. Roush and the York College Concert Choir for a free performance during their annual winter tour! The choir will perform at five stops in three states, January 3-7.

Fifth Annual Cultivate Event Brings Blue Jackets to YC

Believing in a faith born not of words but of deeds, more than 200 high school FFA members participated in York College’s fifth annual Cultivate event Nov. 21. Fourteen chapters from across the state gathered to compete in such events as ag demonstration, Creed speaking, parliamentary procedure, and employment skills. These and other competitive events are designed to develop college and career readiness skills.

Cocoa and Carols to Bring Good Cheer

‘Tis the season to be jolly and what better way to get in the holiday spirit than to enjoy cocoa and cookies at the York College Celebration Singers annual Cocoa and Carols program. This year’s show is Child at Christmas, with performances Thursday, December 5, through Sunday, December 8.

Vibrant choreography and familiar Christmas tunes are the staples of the yearly production. Audience members won’t be able to resist humming along to holiday favorites such as Man with the Bag and Mele Kalikimaka.
