Inauguration of Dr. Sam Smith set for September

Dr. Samuel A. Smith will be inaugurated Friday, Sept. 24, as the 21st president of York College. The investiture ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. in the Campbell Activity Center with a reception to follow on Kiplinger Avenue; both venues are located on the York College campus. The night before the inauguration, a special prayer convocation will be held in the York College Prayer Chapel at 8 p.m.

The inaugural ceremony will highlight the 132-year heritage of the College and its mission to transform lives through Christ-centered education, equipping students for lifelong service to God, family, and society.

New Beginnings

It is difficult to beat the excitement and anticipation that the opening days of college life offer students as they step on campus and move into their residence halls. New beginnings, new friends, new schedules, a new home. Welcome to York College! The first few days of Genesis (orientation) included academic advising, campus tours, and get-to-know-you sessions with Student Government Association, club reps, and YC Campus Ministries. There were plenty of student volunteers to help make a good first impression and kick start the year.

Campus Guidelines Release for Fall 2021

York College is excited to welcome students to campus and is preparing for a spirit-filled year of growth and achievement. Students and their families are making final preparations for the migration to York where they will be welcomed with open arms and smiling faces.

With the landscape of the pandemic constantly shifting, York College has developed COVID-19 guidelines. Although the desire is to return to operations as normally as possible, it is also our goal to create an educational environment that is safe for all members of the campus community. The guidelines will reflect our status as we begin the fall semester but also references a preparedness to shift operations during the school year should it become necessary.

York College Joins the Lower Cost Models Consortium

York College has signed an agreement with the Lower Cost Models Consortium (LCMC) to offer academic programs that create new pathways to employment for students in high-demand areas. By partnering with over 100 institutions that share the mission to create lower-cost, career-ready experiences for students, York College plans to begin offering students new degree programs within high-demand fields by Fall 2022.
