![]() York College announced today the list of Dean's List scholars for the Spring 2017 term; 83 students were recognized with this distinction. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must carry 12 or more graded hours and achieve a semester grade point average of at least 3.75 with no incomplete grades and no grade below “C” for the semester. ![]() A challenge was made and York College alumni rushed to respond. During a special four-day giving challenge, 198 alumni joined together to give $70,164.50 for their alma mater. The majority of these funds will be used to support student scholarships. During the drive, gifts made by alumni were matched by four lead alumni in a 4-to-1 challenge. The opportunity for a matching gift was all their fellow alumni needed to respond in a big way. Gifts and pledges poured in during the challenge period, May 5-8. ![]() It was a perfect spring day at York College campus on Saturday as over 80 students graduated during the morning’s commencement ceremony. Held in the Campbell Student Activity Center, the seats and bleachers were filled with proud parents, excited family members, and eager graduates ready to receive their degrees. See Photo Gallery Dr. Nathan Mellor, CEO of C3 Brands and President of Strata Leadership, gave the commencement address. Dr. Mellor has consulted, trained, and lectured throughout America and abroad on topics related to character and leadership. His clients include corporations and non-profits from across the business spectrum. In pursuit of education, humanitarian, and religious interests he has studied or taught in Australia, Belize, China, England, Guyana, Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Russia, and Rwanda. Dr. Mellor has over 15 years experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at a number of colleges and universities. He is currently an adjunct professor at York College in the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program. |
