I do not read the Bible every day. I do not know a lot of Bible stories or facts. I do not know a lot of context behind verses in the Bible.
However- I do look up verses for whatever support I am needing at that point in time.
If I am ever feeling sad, I look up a verse for sadness. If I ever need motivation, I’ll look up verses that help with motivation.
I don’t know a lot about the Bible, but I do know how to use Google and look up verses. I feel relieved and reassured when reading verses, but I feel lost and don’t know where to start reading which is where Google comes into play.
Psalm 73:26 "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Isaiah 43:1-3 "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord you God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."
Philippians 4:6 "Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
Psalm 23:1-3 "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake."
1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
I look up verses like these daily to make a connection to God, to feel support, and read words that are encouraging. All it takes is a simple Google search to find words from God that show me where He wants me to be.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
