The Upper Level of the Academic Resource Center at Levitt is home to EDGE, YC's Teaching and Learning Commons. Leanna Hawley, director, and her staff provide a coordinated suite of academic services that includes tutoring, academic disability accommodations, and specialized research and writing assistance. AMP, the Academic Mentoring Program housed in EDGE, comes alongside freshmen with academic coaching and specialized learning skill courses. Web-based support consultations are available for not only campus students during this socially distanced era, but for graduate students across the country.
Students who appreciate camping out in silent spaces to do their homework stream in and out of EDGE's four privacy booths. Primarily intended as soundproof spaces for test taking, students rely on them for several other purposes: tuning into webcast courses, recording and listening to audio assignments, and reading silently. They may just be our most popular addition yet.
