Main Level will be outfitted with new furniture that is set to arrive in the next few weeks. Larger computer monitors and specialized work spaces will make student work more efficient and pleasant.
Upper Level is transforming into a fabulous space for students to learn, with a bright classroom, new academic services, and spaces for conversation with classmates.
So exciting - every bit of it!
The weather finally cooperated and today the Second Level conference room windows came out! Previously, the center spaces in the window frames were glass, while the upper and lower panels were a solid surface on the outside and wood paneled on the inside? Now? Floor to ceiling views! So nice!
Called the "Alumni Room" in one early architectural drawing and the "Rare Books Room" in another, this room has been one of Levitt's best-kept secrets. At the opposite end of the computer testing lab, it was easy to miss. Chances are, that will change. The view of campus is delightful, no matter the season. Tucked around behind the stairs, it's a peaceful space with great potential. Though the Second Level won't see much in the way of updates until 2020, if this hint of a face lift is an indication of what's to come, it's going to be prime real estate on our campus.

1969 was a big year.
Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. The Beatles performed for the last time. 747s graced the friendly skies. For the first time, a student checked out a book in York College’s Levitt Library.
Much has changed in the fifty years since Levitt’s doors opened, and it’s time to hit the ‘refresh’ button on this historic building with great bones that has served us so well. A $2.25 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Education and additional support by fantastic donors are paving the way for the next half century.
