Chad Karcher, a native of Bridgeport, Neb., has been the York University Panthers’
Certified Athletic Trainer / Instructor for nearly 30 years. He helped establish the
Athletic Training Internship Program at YU in 1999 and the Athletic Training Minor
Program at York University in 2004. Chad also currently coordinates and administers
an athletic training outreach program in conjunction with York General Hospital and
Fillmore County Hospital, serving five area high schools.
Before coming to York University, Chad spent 7 years working in Physical Therapy through
both the Fillmore County Hospital, Geneva, Neb. and York Physical Therapy in rehabilitation
and as the coordinator for a local high school outreach program serving 14 area high
schools on an athletic training consultation basis. During this time he also served
as Jr. High and Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Geneva High School. He and his
wife Joni, a Special Education Teacher and Asst. Track Coach at Fillmore Central Elementary
School, Geneva, NE, have three boys: Kyle, Kurt, and Kole.
