Dr. Kretz serves as the Chair of the Division of Science and Mathematics, Chair of the Biology
Department, and Associate Professor of Biology at York University. In these three
roles and as an alumnus, he fulfills two core passions: mentoring students toward
holistic academic and spiritual growth, and stewarding York University’s century-long
legacy of Christ-centered education.With experience across the healthcare and education sectors since 2013, Dr. Kretz
brings a wealth of practical and academic expertise to the classroom. His leadership
extends beyond the campus as a member of York University’s Academic Leadership Team
and a contributor to the Nebraska Academy of Science Policy Committee. Since joining
the faculty in 2020, he has taught a diverse range of courses, including Nutrition,
Genetics, Microbiology, Kinesiology, and Exercise Physiology.Serving York University since 2020.
