Amy M. Fraser is a professor of music, teaching both music and music education courses.
She teaches Elementary and Middle grades methods courses, music theory, music literature,
and world music. Mrs. Fraser works with and places student teachers throughout their
student teaching experience.
She is the director of Celebration Singers and Songfest, and curriculum coordinator
for York University's freshmen seminar courses.
Professor Fraser's areas of research include musical identities and music education.
She has collaborated research on several articles including "Musical Identities of
Older Adults Are Not Easily Changed: An Exploratory Study" and "Student Teaching Practices
and Policies In The United States".
Professor Fraser frequently coordinates seminars with various groups teaching them
how to create their own private studio, consistently promotes and plans performance
opportunities in the community for both students and community members, and works
with all ages of students creating musical opportunities and experiences (Round Up).
