Computer Name Instructions

To find your computer's name on Windows 2000 or XP:

Click on Start and Run and type in "CMD" (without the quotation marks) and select "OK".  Then type "ipconfig /all" (without the quotation marks) and hit the Enter key.  Please note that there is a space between "ipconfig" and "/all."

Something similar to the following text will appear:

Type "exit" and hit the Enter key to close the DOS window.

To find your computer's name on Windows 95, 98 or ME (Millenium Edition):

Click on Start and Run and type in "winipcfg" (without the quotation marks) and select "OK".

Click on "More Info" to see all of the information:
Note:  If your Ethernet Adapter Information says "PPP Adapter," change it to the network card.

The Host Name listed is your computer name.
