April will see lots of extra activity and visitors on the York College campus as we host our annual spring Panther Days, April 6 and 7.

Panther Days is a showcase weekend where prospective students and their parents have an opportunity to see what York College has to offer, such as athletic and performing arts events, as well as campus tours and classroom visits. It also serves as a second Homecoming, as many alumni return to campus to take part in the events.

Schedule and Panther Days Registration

Prospective students who wish to attend Panther Days can register with the admissions office at www.york.edu/PD. Registered participants will receive fun YC swag as well as tickets to weekend events and the cafeteria.

The main event of the weekend will be Songfest, a high-energy musical revue, featuring the performances of a quarter of the student body. Hosts and hostesses for the show are Zane Pittman, LaTrell Vasser, Taylor Abraham, Gabrielle Siebenaler, Aubrey Tate, and Caleb Magner. This is a repeat performance for Abraham and Siebenaler, as they both performed as hostesses in Songfest 2016.

Songfest will be performed at 7 p.m., April 4-7, in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased at the door starting at 6 p.m. each night or anytime online at www.york.edu/songfest.

The York College Traveling Children’s Theatre will perform Cinderella and the Commedia Players in the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. This show is fun for all ages and is free to attend. No tickets or reservations are required.

The York College Concert Choir will also perform a free concert on Saturday, at 1 p.m. at the Bartholomew Performing Arts Center. All are invited to attend.

On Friday and Saturday, prospective students will have the chance to visit with coaches, faculty members, and representatives from other campus organizations at receptions, events, and tryouts. A full list of these events as well as the rest of the weekend’s schedule is available at www.york.edu/pd.

Panther Softball will face off against Southwestern College for a double header starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, at the Ball Complex in York.

Saturday morning, parents and grandparents of current and prospective students are invited to attend a devotional at 8:30 a.m. in the Prayer Chapel. This will be followed by brunch in the cafeteria of the Mackey Center. The brunch will include time to meet with senior administrators as well as win door prizes. Those who plan to attend this free event are encouraged to make reservations at develop@york.edu or 402-363-5664.
