​York College senior Nolan Henningson will present a concert of classical favorites and musical theatre standards at his senior recital Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m. in the campus Prayer Chapel.  This performance is free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations are necessary.

The concert will feature modern selections as well as music of the Impressionist and Romantic Periods. Henningson will perform in four languages and numerous styles, with pieces by Mendelssohn, Debussy, and Donicetti, among others. Kay Magner will accompany him on the piano.  

In his musical theatre set, Henningson will perform crowd-pleasing selections such as “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera and “Razzle Dazzle” from Chicago.

​Henningson is a vocal music performance and theatre major from Oberlin, Kansas. He has been an active member of both the music and theatre departments in his years at York College, starring in many productions and serving in important behind-the-scenes capacities in others. He has performed with the York College Concert Choir and Celebration Singers for four years and served as a choral section leader for two years. In 2015, he was a musical host for the annual school production Songfest and in 2016 he was the assistant director of the show.
