Head coach Justin Carver will be accompanying two of his student-athletes to the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field meet in Geneva, Ohio on March 1-2 . For both of them, this is a repeat performance as they return to the national spotlight. Two weeks ago at the NCCAA Indoor Track and Field Tournament, Shaylee Carlock, a senior from Turney, Missouri, finished 3rd in the women’s shot, and Delta, Colo., senior, Andrew Aragon, placed 2nd overall in the men's shot. Both were named NCCAA All-American for the second year in a row and will represent the York College track and field program once again at the NAIA National Meet. Men's Basketball
The men's basketball team
received word through an on-line selection show on Wednesday night that they are indeed heading to the NAIA Div. II National Tournament next week in Point Lookout, Mo. York was in a pool of teams hoping for an at-large bid and knew they stood a great chance at getting in because of their overall record and impressive statistics.
Since transitioning to a four-year college in 1992-93, the men's basketball team secured their first regular season conference championship, sharing the 2013 MCAC title with Bellevue University. In his third year as head coach, Delton Deal has transformed the team into a nationally ranked squad, with the highest ranking in the Coaches’ Poll at No. 15 on February 12. The Panthers are 23-8 on the season and finished 12-4 in the MCAC. They will take on #9 Davenport University (Mich.), March 6, at 8:30 a.m. in the first game of the tournament.
Go Panthers!
