Coffee Shop Talks and student directed one-acts offer dramatic fun for all

Fans of dramatic arts will have two opportunities to be entertained next week.

On Tuesday, November 6, the York College speech team is hosting “Coffee Shop Talks,” a come and go event at the Java Café (116 W 7th St, York). Admission is $5 and includes a mug, coffee or tea, dessert, door prize entry, and entertainment provided by the speech team.

Tickets are purchased at the door. The event will be from 6 to 9 p.m.

Student-directed one-acts will be performed on Friday and Saturday, November 9 and 10. These performances, held in Gurganus hall at 7:30 p.m., are free and open to the public.

The shows to be performed are The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Meagan Detlefs, and Check Please: Take 2, directed by Caleb Clark.

The house will open at 7 p.m. No tickets are needed to attend the one-act performances.

Both Coffee Shop Talks and the one-acts are appropriate for all ages.
