York College Hires Two

Kite and Cantrell round out faculty for 2011-12

Dr. Tracey Wyatt, Academic Dean, announced this week that York College has filled two important positions for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Dr. Jason KiteDr. Jason Kite will join the department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics as Assistant Professor of Physics. Kite comes to York most recently from Malibu, California, where he served as an Adjunct Professor. Jason spent his early years in York, Nebraska, but the majority of his life was spent in Malibu, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Pepperdine University, and met his wife, Robin. Jason received a Ph.D. in Physics from Utah State University in 2007. He is a published author and presenter, and has won the prestigious NASA Group Achievement Award and NASA Software Author Award.

Lisa CantrellMs. Lisa Cantrell will return home to York College this fall to serve as Director of Online Learning. A 1991 graduate of York College, Lisa earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Online Learning from Colorado Christian University. Most recently from Wichita, Kansas, Lisa has a wide variety of experience, not only in evaluation, curriculum design and development, but also in web design, graphic design, digital art and photography.  Lisa has four children.

It was announced earlier this spring that three additional faculty were hired for the 2011-12 academic year: Dr. Terry Seufferlein - Bible, Mr. Joshua Fullman - English, and Mr. Mark Moore - Business. Click here for more on that announcement.
