Mid-Winter Shines at YC
Shine Retreat, a mid-winter tradition at York College, was held February 11-12, at the Timberlake Ranch, a camp located near Central City. The annual retreat, which was first held in 1998 and now draws more than 130 students, includes speakers, worship time and small groups. There were also a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including card games, bonfires, paint ball, and shooting clay pigeons.
Before the weekend get-away, Dr. Shane Mountjoy said, “Shine Retreat is an opportunity for our students to come together, challenge each other, grow closer to each other and to the Lord, and to have a great time away at an off-site retreat center. It has become an annual favorite for many on campus, allowing members of the YC family to interact in a less formal setting. Regardless of the weather, there will be great memories made that weekend. Tim Lewis, our campus ministries director, does a great job every year of keeping this event fresh, fun and student-focused.”
This year’s theme, Keep the Change, was highlighted by three keynote presenters, Josh Cleveland, Jesse Anderson, and Rusty Ridley.
