The 33rd anniversary of Songfest celebrated its closing finale Saturday night during the High School Days weekend. At the completion of the show, clubs anxiously awaited with the audience to hear the judges' tally of their three-night production. Delta Chi Alpha and Kyodai's Rocking the Sea" tied with Beta Beta Sigma and Alpha Chi Epsilon's Where the Wild Things Are for Best Music award. Best Costumes and Best Choreography were won by Beta and AXE as well as the overall President's Award for best club show.
The success of this year's show was attributed in large part to the talented voices of six hosts and hostesses:
Martha Kinyon, Erich Loper, Brienna Rush, Nathan Towell, Matt Ward, and Renee Willard. Under the direction of Dr. Clark Roush, they have been perfecting their performance since the campus-wide auditions in December. Each student chose the music for their own solo, showcasing a wide array of styles and genre to accompany the tight harmonies of their group numbers.
More than a fourth of the York College student body participated in this year's Songfest production.
