Chorister to Participate in National Honor ChoirJason Hernandez to sing at national convention by Sue Roush Jason Hernandez, a tenor and senior vocal performance major at York College, will be performing in the 2011 American Choral Directors Association National Men’s Honor Choir in Chicago, Illinois, March 9 – 12. Jason was chosen by audition from over 700 who submitted digital recordings. “Jason has done outstanding work while here at York College,” said Dr. Clark Roush, chair of the music department, who urged Jason to audition. “He has dedicated himself to his art and craft in a consistently serious manner, and I felt he had both the talent and work ethic to see the audition process through.” “To say ‘I’m honored’ to be in the national men’s honor choir, doesn’t fully describe how I feel,” said Hernandez. “After months of waiting, I’m ecstatic!” The 300 chorus members will rehearse and perform under the direction of Dr. Peter Bagley, Professor Emeritus of Music and Special Assistant to the Dean of the School of Fine Arts at The University of Connecticut. Hernandez is the son of Carol and the late Raymond T. Hernandez and is from Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin.
