YC Enjoys Highest Enrollment in 10 Years

York College’s fall 2010 enrollment has reached a 10-year high of 483 students, representing a 12% increase over fall 2009.

“Last school year saw an increase of 8%,” stated President, Steve Eckman, “our faculty and staff, especially the admissions staff and coaches are to be congratulated for this great accomplishment. Because of their work we have seen an increase of 22% from just two years ago in the fall of 2008.”

Retention of students eligible to return is at 80% for the second year in a row – up from 62% in 2008.

“The hard work of our faculty and staff has helped with this retention of students. Many have gone over and above to help return,” Eckman said. “York College is in the business of transforming lives. This can be seen every day in every area of the campus.”

With a total enrollment of 483 students, the highest since 2000, York College continues to sustain growth and financial stability in turbulent economic times.
