Panthers In Top 25
YC Baseball ranks 21st in the nation*
The York College Baseball team continued their hot streak by beating Hastings College on the heels of entering the NAIA National Rankings for the first time in school history at #21. The Panthers put up 9 runs on the Broncos, 2 of which came off a 400+ foot home run by YC third baseman, Sam Feiner. The Panther baseball team also set a new school record by winning their 14th consecutive game and currently sit atop the MCAC conference standings.
The Panthers, under head coach Nick Harlan and associate head coach Brian Walth, are off to their best start in program history at 26-6 overall and 8-0 in conference. Last week it was announced that they rank nationally in the top 50 in 21different statistical categories.
The April, 13th NAIA Rankings moved York College up the Top 25 Poll to #17. The Panthers defeated Hastings College 12-8 at home Tuesday nigth after winning 3 out of 4 games on the road over the weekend against conference opponent College of the Ozarks. YC Baseball is now 31-7 on the season, 11-1 in conference.
York College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and a founding member of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference. The MCAC is comprised of 10 liberal arts, senior colleges with similar philosophies of supporting intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the educational process by fostering physical, mental, social, emotional, moral, and professional growth in student athletes.
