SIFE Team Heading to Minneapolis Regionals
PBL-SIFE qualifies for spring competition
Members of the York College PBL-SIFE group received notice that they qualified to compete in the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) regional competition in Minneapolis on March 20-22, 2010.
To be eligible to participate, teams must submit an application highlighting three projects completed this year. Based on these submissions, 500 teams are chosen to compete at the regional level. Qualifying teams must prepare a 30-minute group presentation about projects the chapter has sponsored during the past year. Projects will focus on service to either the chapter's campus or community or both. Following the presentation, each team answers questions from a panel of judges.
There are no size divisions in the competition, so York College competes against schools many times its enrollment. Judges are business executives with firms such as Radio Shack, Walgreens, Wells Fargo, Discover Financial Services, Aflac, Sprint, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Petco, Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club.
