Panthers vs Cancer
This Friday night the York College Freeman Center will be decked in pink as players, coaches, and fans give their support to the fight against breast cancer and all other forms of cancer. Between the women’s and men’s home basketball games against College of the Ozarks, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the college will have their annual “Panthers vs. Cancer” program.
YC Campus Minister, Tim Lewis, will emcee the program and will honor some college students who have themselves battled various types of cancer. Also to be honored will be longtime faculty member Dr. Mabrey Miller who recently succumbed to a rare form of cancer.
All proceeds from the night’s gate receipts and any donations will go directly to a local family battling cancer. Checks for the events can be made out to York College with Panthers vs. Cancer in the memo.
Everyone is asked to wear pink, which is a visible stand for Breast Cancer Awareness. The women’s game begins at 5:30 pm, and the men’s will follow the program.
