Sigma Tau Delta

The York College Department of English is pleased to announce the selection of two English / English Education majors to present at the Sigma Tau Delta Convention, March 25-28, at the Hyatt Regency on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, MN. Natasha Hackett’s short story “When Unicorns Had Souls” and her collection of poems entitled “Poetry for Children”, and Sarah Stoutzenberger’s short story “The New House” were selected from 815 paper entries and 25 panel proposals that were screened by 19 readers from across the United States.  Both students are honored with the opportunity to present a paper to an academic audience, such as Sigma Tau Delta.

Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society for academic excellence in English.  The 2009 international convention has the theme of Reflections and will feature acclaimed writers Alexandra Fuller, Neil Gaiman, Michael Perry, and Chris Crutcher.
