Longtime Friend PassesJames O. Grimes, 1923 - 2008
James Oliver Grimes, died last Friday, November 28th in Bowling Green, Kentucky. A member of the Woodburn Church of Christ, Jim was 85 years of age. He founded in 1953 and operated Money Handling Machines, Inc., which continues to be a successful business today operated by his three sons and based in Omaha, Nebraska. His children and grandchildren are York College alums and current students. Jim’s faithful and sacrificial support of Christian education on our campus has led to the progress and strength of churches of Christ all around the world and especially in the north central United States. His leadership as Chairman of our Board of Trustees and his service as an elder of the church plus his love and dedication to his family have made him an inspiration and mentor to many of us.
Following services in Kentucky there will be visitation at the Sunnyslope Church of Christ, 3606 N.108th Street in Omaha on Friday, December 5 from 6-8 PM.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 6 at 10:00 AM at the Roeder Funeral Home, 2727 N. 108th Street, Omaha, NE 68164.
The entire York College family extends our heartfelt sympathy to his family.
