Tribute to DisneyCelebration Singers give final performanceBy Katie Sobetski
Student assistant director Sara Firm commented that everyone from age 2 to 92 would be entertained, and she was right as the Singers put together an outstanding show. Firm, a senior from Loves Park, Illinois, had the opportunity to not only sing, but choreograph the songs that she has loved since her childhood. Included in the program were popular tunes from the animated musicals that everyone thinks about, but also a few songs were performed from the classics as well. The selections ranged from Mary Poppin’s “Step in Time,” to Lion King’s “Circle of Life” and “Be Prepared,” to pieces from Mulan and Newsies. Dr. Clark Roush, director, felt a high energy show with lots of color, movement, and great music was a good way to wrap up the year. He commented before the show, "It’s a joy and pleasure to work with such fine performers.” The students were intricately involved in designing the show and played their part with great talent and passion. Golden, Colorado, sophomore Renee Willard said, “We have a lot of fun and goofiness in the process, but in the end we always pull it all together.”
This year's program was sponsored by Midwest Bank. |
