POSITION:          Maintenance and Operations Specialist

                            (full-time 37.5 hours/week)

 

LOCATION        Heartland Family Service

                            2101 S42nd Street

                            Omaha, NE68105

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  

Performs highly technical and skilled functions with specific training and aptitudes.  Requires daily decision making and public contact.  Very specific knowledge  of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC experience are required.  Ability to work  with wide range of customers and meet deadlines is critical.  Ability to plan and conduct comprehensive, specialized projects.  Training and strong communication skills are also required.

PREFERRED  MINIMUM  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma
  • Four years related experience
  • Valid drivers license/ acceptable driving record
  • Skills in ongoing facility repair tasks
  • Ability to perform lifting and other physically demanding duties as necessary

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Performs routine facility and maintenance related task and makes necessary repairs.
  2. Monitors and maintains HVAC systems at all agency locations
  3. Identify, prioritizing, and scheduling special maintenance required to keep the buildings and grounds attractive and professional.
  4. Assists in grounds and parking lot maintenance.
  5. Oversee collection and storage of donations.
  6. Assists in scheduled inspection, maintenance and repair of all agency vehicle
  7. Serve as Management liaison to Safety and Wellness committee.
  8. Performs as lead staff in operations in the absence of  Operations Director
  9. Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
  10. Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
  11. Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  12. Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  13. Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training  opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.

       13.  Performs other program related duties as assigned.
