Preacher

We have been blessed with our preacher and his family as part of our body.  Now his secular work is taking him out of the area. Consequently, we are prayerfully looking for the right man to step into the preacher position, and for him and his family to become active members of our body. 

This is an ideal opportunity for a self-starter, outreach oriented preacher and worker that wants to join like-minded church of Christ families. We see our greatest opportunity in reaching out to young married couples and families. We have a good age representation and are a debt-free congregation. This is, in many ways, a mission field that is ripe for the harvest. You will be supported by leadership of 3 elders and the congregation.

We are looking for a Godly man, faithful to the church of Christ and sound bible doctrine based  upon the word of God. He must have at least 3-5 years of prior preaching experience. The ideal candidate would be in a first marriage with a church-active family, be socially grounded and with a high level of integrity and energy. His preaching/lessons should be encouraging, spiritually uplifting and evangelistically oriented. A formal bible education is required with a certificate in Biblical Studies or Preaching/Ministerial from a recognized 4 year college/university in the brotherhood. He will need to show church development and growth in his past work, sound Biblical teaching, effective communication skills, verifiable leadership references, experience with young adults and families and a pattern of good works. The work here includes all phases of ministry (preaching, teaching, visiting, evangelism, edifying and leadership).

We are located in Knoxville, IA, the county seat of Marion County, a 32,000 person area with light industry and agriculture. The city of Knoxville is home to around 8,000 people. Local activities include extensive camping on the largest lake in Iowa, rolling hills and complete athletic facilities for all ages. We have easy access to Des Moines, the state capital, VA and community hospitals, typical retail shopping and other amenities.
