POSITION:          Intake Specialist

                            (part-time 18 hours/week)

 

LOCATION:         Heartland Family Service

                            2101 S. 42 Street

                            Omaha, NE  68105

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  Provide intake services.

 

PREFERRED  MINIMUM  QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree
• 2 years experience
• prefer proficiency in MS Word
• bi-lingual Spanish a plus

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Screens all incoming client calls for appropriate type of counseling and family life education services.
• Provides crisis intervention and problem solving assistance to client callers or those who walk in.
• Maintains good working relationships with referral sources.
• Refers callers to appropriate Heartland Family Service programs; completes intake and/or registration process.
• Schedules initial appointments within Heartland Family Service.
• Refers callers to appropriate community resources.
• Maintains and updates files of current information regarding community resources.
• Maintains service statistics; analyzes data and prepares reports, including monthly executive summary, outcomes and weekly reports.
• Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
• Problem solves and trouble shoots on a daily basis.
• Provides ECHO training to outer office clerical and clinical staff.
• Assists in formulating new policies and procedures.
• Improves systems and forms to increase efficiency of intake process.
• Informs program coordinators and supervisors of any developing patterns concerning their programs.
• Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics and other requirements.
