POSITION:          Help Desk Support Specialist

                            (part-time 20 hours/week)

 

LOCATION:         Heartland Family Service

                            2101 S. 42nd Street

                            Omaha, NE  68106

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

 Troubleshoot workstation problem and technical issues for full spectrum of users within the agency. This includes Windows 2000 and XP.

 

PREFERRED  MINIMUM  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ year practical Tech Support, network experience. Users help desk and troubleshooting experience most important. Certification would be advantageous if coupled with hands-on experience. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze, and resolve problems.
  • Valid Driver’s License/ acceptable driving record

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  •   *Provides technical support in person, via phone or other communication media and resolves employee problems in a professional and prompt manner.
  • *Provides support by resolving issues, troubleshooting, and making contact with appropriate staff member to notify them of problem and follows-up with notification when the issue has been resolved.
  • *Analyzes nature of the problem to determine how to direct the issue for proper resolution, resolving the issue at the initial contact when possible using the procedures provided. 
  • *Routinely check voicemail, when Help Desk is not being manned during work hours.
  • *Communicates and documents activity by following established procedure.
  • *Assist workstation administration and management with setup, configuration and support of both the workstation hardware and software. This will include Operating System installation, configuration and upgrades, application installation and configuration, hardware upgrades and hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Assist in supporting and maintaining the phone system as needed.
  • *Clean, modify and repair computer hardware as needed.
  • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, staff, referral sources and visitors of the Agency.  Provides positive leadership, modeling and training for all staff as well as ongoing development for staff.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
  • *Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling, attendance, hiring, deadlines, and responding to program/client/staff issues.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • *Assures compliance with all contract, external, and internal conditions.
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.
