Youth Minister

The Corona church of Christ currently has an exciting opportunity for a special person to join our congregation in the role of Youth Minister.  This is an extremely critical ministry in our growing church.  At a time where many churches are static and lifeless, God continues to bless the Corona church of Christ with unprecedented numerical and spiritual growth.  We are known for genuine friendliness, spirit-filled worship, commitment to prayer, and love for the truth.  Our youth group has a very faithful core of young people backed by active and involved parents.  The larger group of young people has recently numbered at over 30 people. 

Our young people need a spiritual mentor, example and leader.  The job summary below highlights important aspects of the position.  

 

Job Summary

As God’s chosen man, the Youth Minister for the Corona church of Christ will serve as a leader, mentor, example, and teacher primarily for the teen and pre-teen members of our church family.  The Corona Youth Minister will help prepare the youth for a life-long walk with Christ. 

Primary Duties

• Teach and/or facilitate the Sunday morning and Wednesday night Teen Bible classes 
• Conduct one-on-one Bible studies with the teens
• Counsel and mentor youth of all ages and young adults (the young people)
• Plan and lead youth oriented activities of both a spiritual and/or fun nature.
• Prepare young people for leadership, service, and to be teachers in the congregation
• Evangelize the unsaved friends, parents, family of young people, and local community.
• Promote and encourage mutual respect and love within the youth group regardless of gender, race, education, or social status. 
• Promote high, moral standards based on Biblical principles concerning sexuality, purity, integrity, honesty, relationships, and love. 
• Design strategies to keep disengaged (wandering and weaker) youth actively engaged in youth program objectives.
• Facilitate annual community service project. 

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Baptized believer and faithful member of church of Christ in good standing
• Strong Bible Knowledge
• Prayerful in everything he does
• Good public speaker
• Technically savvy including proficient skills in MS Office products and talent to produce attractive marketing/promotional material. 
• Full-time commitment to youth ministry
• Previous and successful experience ministering to teens
• Mentor/Openness/Approachable
• B.A. Degree, preferably in religious subject or studies
• Manage a variety of diverse relationships
• Team Player
• Must provide strong personal and professional references and be able to pass extensive background check. 

The Corona church of Christ regularly has approximately 240 people in Sunday morning worship.  Our congregation demographics “looks like Heaven” in that we have a racially diverse group of people from all education, social, and economic backgrounds.  God has blessed us with talented and hard working members.  Our leadership is made up of Godly men who want Corona to be a model church in Southern California for God’s glory.  The church regularly holds events meant to evangelize the lost and edify the saved.
