Fine Arts & Literary Organizations

York College offers many opportunities to develop your performing gifts, whether musical or theatrical or both. Students are encouraged to participate regardless of their major.

Vocal performance groups include the York College Concert Choir and a smaller ensemble named Celebration Singers. Gurganus Hall is home to the music program as well as York's well-loved Theatre Department. The YC Theatre program includes the Traveling Children's Theatre (student-actors perform for more than 20 young audiences each year across the state), a Fall and Spring production, and Student-Directed One-Act plays. Be sure to look at our Performing Arts home page to learn about all the opportunities for you at York College.

If writing is your passion, you may be interested in the York College Panther Press. Panther Press writers have an opportunity to hone their skills as reporters while using the medium of an on-line newspaper. Other literary activities are sponsored by the English Department and are open to students regardless of major.
