NAIA National Qualifiers

Feb. 9, 2010 :   Congratulations to Jamel Wheatley for qualifying for NAIA Nationals at the Briar Cliff Open. He joins Panther wrestlers, Bryan Williams, Nick McGrew, Bryan Irsik, and Jason Lloyd as those who have qualified for the pinnacle tournament of NAIA competition. Wheatley, a 184 lb. freshman from Lafayette, Louisanna, has been wrestling well all season and came close to qualifying a number of times. Nick McGrew is a junior transfer student from Arkansas City, Kansas and carries with him a positive attitude and easy smile wherever he goes.  Bryan Irsik, also a junior at York College has had an incredible York College career which includes a hiatus from campus while overcoming cancer.  Jason Lloyd, a junior from St. Louis, Missouri, will be making his second appearance at Nationals after being one of two wrestlers last season to qualify. Finally, Bryan Williams, a transfer from California, wrestling at the 141 slot, has been in York and training since the summer and has tremendous potential to compete on the national stage.  Congrats to these five wrestlers who hope to be joined by a few other teammates at Nationals before the season ends.
