Roundup

RoundUp is a little bit Bible camp, a little bit college, and a whole lot of fun! It’s a week-long retreat for “Golden Agers” hosted on the College campus. Attending RoundUp is like a mini-term as a student at College. You will attend classes, eat in the cafeteria, participate in fun activities, and meet new friends from across the country.

The day begins with a Bible class taught by YC faculty members from the Bible Department. They will bring you sound lessons from scripture with deep insight into the historical context. Their lessons are interesting and educational, as well as uplifting. Each evening there will be time for group worship during devotionals.

This year, we are privileged to have Mr. Tim McNeese back with us as the featured lecturer as we take a look at World War II. Mr. McNeese is an Associate Professor of History, Head of the History Department, and Chair of the Humanities Division here at York College. In addition to authoring over 90 books, he was also featured on the History Channel’s Risk Takers, History Makers.

Our field trip will continue the theme of the week as we visit the Strategic Air and Space Museum.

Two of the most fun events of the week are the theme dinner and costume contest, and the end of the week talent show. This year for our theme dinner we will go back in time to the days before Pearl Harbor was attacked and enjoy a luau. So bring your island wear or military uniform (for the theme dinner) and talents (for the talent show), and be prepared to show off! There will also be time for fun and fellowship every evening.

RoundUp dates are May 18-24, 2008.
The cost of the week is $200 per person, or $390 per couple.
Price includes all meals, rooms, classes, and field trip expenses.
