Message from the Academic Dean

Tomorrow’s most important careers require a diversity of knowledge rather than narrowly focused training. From communication and criminal justice to the pre-professional programs such as pre-engineering, pre-law and pre-medicine, the Christian higher education you will experience at York College prepares you well for a host of options.

At York College we believe that the pursuit of knowledge combined with exploring our Christian faith is a robust model of learning. We will:

  • Challenge every student in matters of faith. This will happen in every aspect of campus life. We will call every student to a life-changing faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Build every academic major around a strong liberal arts core. Everyone is a life-long learner – whether you wish to be or not. It is the nature of all our careers and fields of study. A broad field of study and a focus that teaches our graduates to think is the critical tool each one needs to compete, to empathize and to prepare to be enthusiastic life-long learners.
  • Provide a mentoring environment that encourages every student to pursue their best. We will know our students by name, prod them to achieve, and connect Christian ethics with excellence. Every curricular and co-curricular opportunity will enhance this experience for our students.

This is a community of faith and a fellowship of learning that will challenge you to be your very best. I invite you to join us here at York College.

Dr. Tracey L. Wyatt
Academic Dean
