 Concert Choir to perform Elijah with Abendmusik
The York College Concert Choir will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s epic Elijah with Abendmusik, the professional choir and orchestra of Lincoln, on Sunday, April 28th, at 4 p.m.
This will be the concert choir's annual Spring Works concert, as well as the finale of 40th anniversary season for Abendmusik.
The performance will include professional soloists, an orchestra, and three choirs.
Dr. Clark Roush, endowed chair for the performing arts, says that when York College choir was invited to participate in this event, he jumped at the opportunity. Though it has meant some additional challenges, it was an obvious choice.
"I was incredibly honored when Abendmusik asked the concert choir to perform Elijah with them. It's going to be an amazing concert and a great learning opportunity for our students to work with so many professional and high caliber musicians."
The concert will be performed at First Plymouth Congregational Church, 2000 "D" Street, in Lincoln. Tickets may be purchased through the Abendmusik site.
