Theatre Emphasis

The YC Theatre Season provides multiple opportunities for students to gain experience on and off stage. Each season includes a fall comedy or musical, one-acts, spring drama and the traveling Children's Theatre. YC students learn all aspects of production including performance, costuming and prop management, make-up, set design, set construction, stage crew, lighting, sound, and ticketing. Performances and classes prepare students for their own artistic and academic futures. The theatre program prepares students for work in:

  • Directing
  • Acting
  • Technical Theatre
  • Costuming

Aside from graduate studies in theatre, other advanced study options include:

  • Communication
  • Theatre Education
  • Music and Musical Theatre Performance

If you have questions about the Fine Arts and Communication Department, or would like to schedule a tour of the program, please contact Dr. Clark Roush, Chair of the Department of Fine Arts and Communication.
